A cemetery from 1760 in the middle of a bustling city, and final resting place for some of the most popular Danes in history, such as Niels Bohr, Søren Kierkegaard and H.C. Andersen. It offers some peace and (almost) quiet away from the busy streets of Nørrebro. Here you will find next of kin visiting lost family, people walking their dogs, couples hand in hand and groups of people relaxing on the small patches of grass throughout.

Botanical Garden is a really beautiful and calm place to see - it both has an indoor and outdoor area. The indoor areas is just beautiful on all the flowers and plants, but the outdoor area grounds up to a park where you can sit and chill and just enjoy the atmosphere.

Situated in the heart of Copenhagen, Amalienborg Palace serves as the official residence of the Danish royal family. Comprising four identical buildings encircling the central palace square, visitors can explore the area freely. Stroll around and catch glimpses of the guards adorned in their distinctive uniforms and furry hats, standing watch over the royal family. Each day, the Royal Guard conducts a ceremonial march through Copenhagen's streets, culminating at Amalienborg. At noon, the changing of the guard takes place, where the outgoing watch is relieved, and the new watch assumes duty. To witness this iconic event, ensure you arrive at Amalienborg on time. It stands as one of Copenhagen's most iconic experiences! Photography with the guards is permitted, but maintain a respectful distance.

One of the many towers of Copenhagen with a great view. The last 150 steps to the top provides an extra thrill as they are placed on an external staircase winding round the tower.

The Experimentarium is an educational activity center and a lighthouse for communication and understanding of our nature, culture, and history. One is drawn in by participating in experiments, and there is more than one can manage to see in a day. There is also an exhibition on morality and AI.

It is the oldest existing comic book store in the world. And if the rumor is true is the shop where Matt Groening got his inspiration for the Simpson character 'Comic Book Guy'. Never go to Copenhagen without visiting this place!

Goboat is a company renting out small boats, and it is the perfect way to see Copenhagen from the many canals and have a picnic on the water.

A boat tour is an enjoyable and time-efficient way to sightsee in Copenhagen! You’ll get to see all of the major sites - the stock exchange, Parliament, Castle, Little Mermaid statue, and more. The boats leave from Nyhavn, which is also worth seeing! Note: I recommend the Netto Boats, rather than the other company, as they’re much cheaper but the exact same experience.

I love grabbing a coffee and getting some work done in the Black Diamond. Make sure you take the escalators up and walk around the building. I also really love the little hidden park behind the library.

BaneGaarden is a green oasis in Copenhagen with a lot of food events. Join one of the events, or simply stop by and enjoy the cozy atmosphere while eating freshly baked bread and drinking a cup of coffee.

The danish version of the hot dog is a must-try - preferably ordered with the whole shebang ('med det hele' in Danish) at a classic hot dog stand.

This is one of my favorite places to eat in Copenhagen. Get ready to eat with your hands! It's in Nørrebro, so you will experience a very different part of the city than central Copenhagen. This is where "normal" people live in Copenhagen — make sure you walk around the neighborhoods.

Madklubben has several restaurants around Copenhagen and all of them are good food for a reasonable price (by Copenhagen standards) - and they’re all great for large groups, which often happens at conferences.

A cozy cellar restaurant within the middle-age part of Copenhagen. Classic but superb food.

The best pizza in Copenhagen. There are no tables, but you can bring your pizza to the nearby lakes or the fælledpark very close it as well. Been a far for the 20+ years this place as existed.

Tramonto Rooftop is an exceptional good Italian restaurant, which is located on a rooftop. The view over Copenhagen while you eat is phenomenal. Biggest recommendation is their lemon ice cream! It's a must try!

Combine your dinner with a great selection of beer at brewpub Warpigs. The brewpub is situated in the meat Packing district and the interior has kept the white and brown tiles on the wall and floor. Food and beer is cooked and brewed on-site so if you like smokey BBQ, good beer and rock 'n roll, this is the place to be.

Hvide Lam is an authentic old bar from the year 1807, that to this day still serves cold beers and live jazz music every night. If you are hungry you can buy danish "smørrebrød" and wash it down with a schnapps.

I love taking the habour bus (it's a ferry) around the harbour — especially the new electric ferries that are very silent. It's public transportation so it's a very cheap and comfortable way to explore the city. I'll sometimes get half an hour work done just hanging out on the ferry if it isn't crowded.

The staff can recount the most naughty stories from this fine old restaurant.

Magasin is one of Denmark’s oldest department stores, and it’s a great place to go if you’re looking for nice gifts to take back for friends or family. The food hall in the basement is full of all sorts of gourmet treats. Best of all, tourists get a 10% discount - make sure you have your passport with you!

A cultural gem, centrally located. Stroll past the colorful buildings and enjoy a quick bite to eat. From Nyhavn you are close to the royal castle (Amalienborg), Kongens Nytorv (main plaza). This is also where the canal tours start from.

The museum has a cozy cafe with a very exotic atmosphere by Danish standards and the rest of the building is a great setting for the classic marble statues and egyptian artifacts. Great place to take your better half for afternoon tea 😉

This concert venue is housed in a historical building from 1956 and designed by the same person who designed Copenhagen Airport. With an exterior of concrete and glass and interior of wood and mozaic, it is a visit back in time when entering the doors for a concert of contemporary music.
